What is the best vacation spot in Hawaii for someone who is only mildly fond of beaches?

I'm not anti-beach, but the activity of the beach holiday is not just for me. What are your favorite areas of Hawaii with the exception of the beach? Was up for urban search, view wildlife, or anything unique and fun.

I really liked Big Island. There are some beautiful mountain towns and natural settings that are not along the beach.

The weekends small but maui kauai are some nice waterfalls just outside of the big island actually there are lots of hilo there are more beach oriented on any of historical places like iolani palace.
